Job summary

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer for the Diagnostic Imaging Department at St. Martha's Regional Hospital. The role involves performing routine and specialized ultrasound procedures, ensuring proper technique, and contributing to patient care.

Travel to other sites may be required. The successful candidate will hold NSRMIRT licensure, be CPR certified, and bring relevant ultrasound credentials.

Qualifications

  • Must be graduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound.
  • Nova Scotia Regulator of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NSRMIRT) licensure required.
  • Current CPR Certification required.
  • Able to review manuals and participate in discussions using technical language.
  • Registration with more than one ultrasound credential is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and specialized ultrasound procedures in the Diagnostic Imaging Department.
  • Ensure proper application of ultrasound techniques and procedures.
  • Provide patient care and support as part of the Diagnostic Imaging Team.
  • Travel to other sites may be required.

About the Opportunity

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer reports to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, as a member of the Diagnostic Imaging Team performs patient care, technical activities, and duties directly related to the overall functioning of the department. The purpose of this position involves the performance of routine and specialized ultrasound procedures in the Diagnostic Imaging Department ensuring proper application of ultrasound techniques and procedures.

Travel to other sites may be required.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound
  • Nova Scotia Regulator of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NSRMIRT) licensure
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Comprehension of the technical language to be able to review and use manuals and take part in relevant discussions
  • Previous experience is an asset
  • Registration with more than one ultrasound credential is an asset
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

  • Full-time long assignment position; 75 hours biweekly

Compensation and Benefits

$38.74 - $47.50 hourly
