Job summary

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer for multi-site coverage, based at Cobequid Community Health Centre with rotations to Dartmouth General Hospital and Hants Community Hospital. You will perform routine and specialized ultrasound procedures and ensure proper application of ultrasound techniques under the Diagnostic Imaging Team.

The role requires graduates from an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound, NSRMIRT licensure, CPR, and relevant

Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound.
  • Nova Scotia Regulator of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NSRMIRT) licensure.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Comprehension of the technical language to review and use manuals and take part in relevant discussions.
  • Previous experience is an asset.
  • Registration with more than one ultrasound credential is an asset.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

About the Opportunity

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer reports to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, as a member of the Diagnostic Imaging Team performs patient care, technical activities, and duties directly related to the overall functioning of the department. The purpose of this position involves the performance of routine and specialized ultrasound procedures in the Diagnostic Imaging Department ensuring proper application of ultrasound techniques and procedures.

Travel to other sites may be required.

Multi-Site - This position is based out of Cobequid Community Health Centre with rotation to Dartmouth General Hospital and Hants Community Hospital.

Hours
  • Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
  • Shift work required including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Compensation and Benefits

$38.74 - $47.50 hourly
