Job summary

Nova Scotia Health Authority in the Eastern Zone (Strait Richmond Hospital) is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join the Ultrasound team. The role involves routine and specialized ultrasound procedures with travel to other sites as needed.

Permanent full-time position (75 hours biweekly) with a competitive hourly wage and comprehensive benefits. Licensure and CPR certification required, bilingual skills considered an asset.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound.
  • NSRMIRT licensure for Nova Scotia Medical Imaging.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Proficient in technical ultrasound language and manuals.
  • Experience in ultrasound is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and specialized ultrasound procedures in the Diagnostic Imaging Department.
  • Ensure proper application of ultrasound techniques and procedures.
  • Travel to other sites may be required.

About the Opportunity

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer reports to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, as a member of the Diagnostic Imaging Team performs patient care, technical activities, and duties directly related to the overall functioning of the department. The purpose of this position involves the performance of routine and specialized ultrasound procedures in the Diagnostic Imaging Department ensuring proper application of ultrasound techniques and procedures.

Travel to other sites may be required.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound
  • Nova Scotia Regulator of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NSRMIRT) licensure
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Comprehension of the technical language to be able to review and use manuals and take part in relevant discussions
  • Previous experience is an asset
  • Registration with more than one ultrasound credential is an asset
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Compensation and Benefits

$38.74 - $47.50 hourly
