Job summary

A healthcare organization in Manitoba is seeking a Health Care Aide to join their team at the Dauphin MRI department. The successful candidate will have a Health Care Aide certificate and a minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience in a Diagnostic Imaging environment. Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview
Experience
  • Must have a minimum of 1-2 years recent relevant experience, preferably in a Diagnostic Imaging environment.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Health Care Aide certificate (certified) from a recognized educational institution is required.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Must have and maintain current BCLS certification.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Ability to work co-operatively and courteously with patients and hospital personnel.
  • Flexibility and independence in planning work and the ability to make priority decisions in carrying out daily activities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, oral and written.
Physical Requirements
  • General conditions normally found in a Diagnostic Imaging Service in a community hospital.
  • Must be able to withstand extensive amounts of standing, walking, bending and lifting and be able to lift and transfer patients in a safe manner.
  • Will be required to transfer patients to and from wheelchairs, Geri chairs, stretchers, diagnostic imaging tables and patient beds utilizing safe transfer techniques.
  • May be required to work flexible hours and/or overtime as required to meet the needs of the service.

This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement.
