Job summary

Rocky View County is seeking a Manager Development Engineering to provide leadership and direction for Development Engineering, ensuring timely engineering advice for approvals and development construction. You will supervise the Municipal Engineer, Engineering Technician, and administrative staff while coordinating with Executive leadership.

The role focuses on shaping development, growth, and infrastructure planning, supporting strategic projects, and maintaining high standards of customer

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer in good standing with APEGA or similar license.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible engineering experience.
• At least 3 years of mentorship, coaching and guidance to others.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Development Engineering portfolio and manage team workload to support timely approvals.
• Lead representation in Council meetings and boards on engineering requirements.
• Collaborate with Planning and other departments to ensure consistent development approvals.
• Provide technical reviews of long-range growth planning and infrastructure studies.
• Prepare comprehensive written reports and provide recommendations to Council or stakeholders.
• Demonstrate strong leadership, communication and project management across departments.
