Job summary

Stantec in Calgary seeks a Senior Land Development Engineer to lead the design of land development projects for clients. You will oversee complex greenfield and brownfield designs, coordinating across engineering, planning, and construction disciplines to meet municipal requirements.

The role requires a PEng with APEGA and 8+ years in land development, with strong communication skills and ability to mentor junior staff. Flexible work arrangements are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and licensed as a Professional Engineer with APEGA.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in land development and related disciplines.
• Experience in the City of Calgary and surrounding area strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design for greenfield and brownfield land development projects of high complexity.
• Review and prepare designs for site grading and site servicing including water distribution, sanitary sewers, storm water management, shallow utilities, and erosion control design.
• Complete due diligence reports and land reviews for potential land purchases for clients.
• Provide senior engineering support for servicing in Planning applications/Land Use Designations.
• Liaise with municipalities and approving authorities to advocate for client objectives.
• Build and foster relationships with clients and authorities; mentor junior staff.
• Contribute to project coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in QA/QC reviews and in development of new standards and processes.
