Duties
Detachment Services Assistants provide administrative and operational support to police members and others at the detachment. They also provide assistance and information to the public.
Work environment
Coaldale and Picture Butte are welcoming southern Alberta communities located near Lethbridge. Coaldale is a growing town with easy access to urban amenities, while Picture Butte offers a close-knit rural community atmosphere. The Picture Butte Detachment functions as a satellite office, providing services within the broader area. In this position, there may be brief periods working alone while police members are on patrol or otherwise away.
Intent of the process
The process will initially be used to staff one position on an indeterminate basis in Coaldale or Picture Butte (Alberta). A pool of qualified candidates may be established and used to staff similar positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Southern Alberta District. Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.
