Job summary

Shared Health in Winnipeg, MB is seeking a Level 2 Desktop Support Technician to maintain a secure endpoint environment and provide desktop, mobile, and peripheral support within the Manitoba health system.

The role requires 3 years of enterprise IT desktop support experience, a post-secondary IT diploma, and the ability to work in a confidential environment. In-person work arrangement with standard daytime hours.

Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

Maintain a secure endpoint environment and provide "Level 2" desktop, mobile, and peripheral equipment support for assigned technologies within the Manitoba health system enterprise architecture.

Experience

• 3 years of experience working in enterprise information technology providing desktop support with a focus on one or more of the following:
  • Desktop and mobile hardware;
  • Equipment support of peripheral devices;
  • Endpoint management utilities, practices, and client operating system features;
  • Operating hardware tools, components, field-replaceable units and peripheral accessories;
  • Providing onsite support confidential environment.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

• A post-secondary diploma in an information technology related program from an accredited post-secondary institution.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

• Demonstrated staff leadership capabilities. The provincial health system in Manitoba has adopted the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work safely in a computerized office environment with frequent meetings, and to lift and carry items of up to approximately 10 kg.
• Interruptions to respond to questions are common; dedicated and focused time for planning and concentration can be scheduled.
• Must have a valid Manitoba driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle for regular travel within the province.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
