Job summary

Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking an experienced administrative professional to support the Child Health Program Administrative HSC. The role focuses on in-person, dayshift work with 8 hours daily, 1.0 FTE, starting 10/07/2026.

Requires strong typing, MS Office skills, and patient-centered collaboration across teams. Formal education includes high school completion and secretarial training; a combination of education and experience may be considered.

Qualifications

  • Preference for Indigenous language competence or knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
  • Typing 50-60 wpm required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of the Internet and Internet Explorer required.
  • Medical Terminology (pass mark 75%) preferred.
  • Excellent decision-making and ability to coordinate workflow and develop effective work processes.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff, WRHA and the public.

Annual Base Hours: 1950

Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Experience
  • Minimum of five to seven years related experience in a healthcare setting, preferably at a senior level.
  • Experience setting up spread sheets and databases required.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Complete high school education, Manitoba Standards, required.
  • Successful completion of a recognized secretarial training program required.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to function independently in a fast-pacedenvironment with a heavy workload.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
