Job summary

AXA XL in Canada is seeking a Claims Specialist-Design Professional to drive files to resolution and work closely with Underwriting to deliver proactive outcomes for clients. You will resolve complex matters, manage communications with brokers, counsel, and insureds, and contribute to risk management initiatives.

Ideal candidates bring a valid CA/AMF-certified Commercial-lines claims adjustment credential, a bachelor’s degree (MBA or LLB preferred), and strong analytical, negotiation, and

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a valid Representative’s Certificate for Commercial-lines claims adjustment in compliance with AMF requirements.
• Experience handling litigation claims for Professional lines of business.
• Bachelor’s degree or comparable degree; MBA or LLB preferred.
• CIP or CRM designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage analysis on new matters and advise underwriting on wording and reviews.
• Evaluate financial exposures and negotiate timely resolutions across jurisdictions.
• Partner with counsel to pursue effective litigation strategies and participate in mediations.
• Coordinate communications with Underwriting, brokers, reinsurers, vendors and other stakeholders to ensure top-tier service.
• Consult with Claims Management and Claims Legal on large losses and contentious coverage matters.
• Maintain file notes, timely reserving, payments and electronic diary in line with guidelines.
• Identify emerging industry trends and regulatory changes.
• Participate in new accounts and renewal meetings as required.
• Contribute to educational material and risk management initiatives for policyholders and agents.
