Job summary

Independent Grocers Alliance is looking for a department manager for our Canadian locations. You will lead department activities, set objectives, and coach your team to meet targets while managing inventory, pricing, marketing and productivity to align with company standards.

The role emphasizes budgeting, leadership, and hands-on management in a retail environment with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 2 years of retail experience.
• High school diploma or college degree with management experience.
• Experience as department manager preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage activities within the department on a day-to-day basis.
• Define objectives and communicate expectations, providing feedback and coaching to achieve results.
• Oversee purchases, inventories, price lists, marketing and productivity per standards to ensure readiness.
• Apply and monitor budgets related to the department.
