Job summary

Applewood Dental, a Dawson Dental Family Practice, is seeking a Dental Assistant who is passionate about patient care and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced setting. You will prepare treatment rooms, assist dentists and hygienists, take X-rays, and support patient education and scheduling.

Registered or Certified as a Dental Assistant with your provincial regulatory body is required; previous dental assisting experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Registered or Certified Dental Assistant with provincial regulatory body.
• Experience in dental assisting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures.
• Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments, maintaining patient comfort and workflow.
• Take dental X-rays and digital images as required.
• Perform instrument sterilization and infection control per IPAC standards.
• Update patient charts and provide oral hygiene education.
• Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient care.
• Follow privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines.

Schedule:

• Monday: 10:00 am - 7:00 pm.
• Tuesday: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.
• Wednesday: 8:00 am - 7:00 pm.
• Thursday: 9:00 am - 6:00 pm.
• Friday: 9:00 am - 2:00 pm.

The wage for this Dental Assistant position is $24-$30/hour depending on skills, experience, and location.

Your Role:

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
• Assistdentists and hygienists during treatments,maintainingpatient comfort and workflow.
• Take dental X-rays and digital images asrequired.
• Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards.
• Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high-quality care.
• Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
• Establish strong patient relationships whilemaintainingethical professional behaviour.

About You:

• Registered and/orCertified as aDental Assistant with your Provincial regulatory body or associationisrequired.
• Previousdentalassistingexperience is preferred.
