Job summary

Birchmount Dental Group in Scarborough and Barrie is hiring a full-time Dental Assistant to support dentists and hygienists. You will prepare rooms, take X-rays, maintain sterilization, update records, and educate patients on oral care while ensuring safety and efficiency across two modern clinics.

Ideal candidates are registered or certified dental assistants with preferred prior experience and a commitment to patient-first care in a dynamic dental team environment.

Qualifications

  • Registered and/or Certified as a Dental Assistant with your Provincial regulatory body or association.
  • Previous dental assisting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
  • Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments, maintaining patient comfort and workflow.
  • Take dental X-rays and digital images as required.
  • Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards.
  • Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
  • Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high-quality care.
  • Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour.

Schedule:

Full-Time Monday: 11:00am - 7:00pm
Tuesday: 8:30am - 6:00pm
Wednesday: 8:30am - 5:30pm
Thursday: 8:30am - 9:30pm
Friday: 8:00am - 2:00pm
One Saturday per month from September to May.

The wage for this Dental Assistant position is $25-$30/hour depending on skills, experience, and location.
