Job summary

Dawson Dental Oshawa, part of the Dentalcorp network, is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to support our clinical team and deliver exceptional patient experiences.

You will prepare treatment rooms, assist with procedures, take X-rays, and maintain high standards of infection control in a modern dental practice.

Qualifications

• Registered and/or Certified as a Dental Assistant with provincial regulatory body or association.
• Previous dental assisting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and materials for procedures.
• Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments and maintain patient comfort.
• Take dental X-rays and digital images as required.
• Perform instrument sterilization and infection control per IPAC standards.
• Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene.
• Support scheduling, patient flow and administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient care.

Schedule

• Full-Time Monday: 8:45am - 5:30pm
• Tuesday: 8:45am - 5:30pm
• Wednesday: 9:15am - 6:00pm
• Thursday: 8:45am - 5:30pm
• Friday: 8:45am - 4:30pm
• Saturday as needed for coverage

The wage for this Dental Assistant position is $24-$28/hour depending on skills, experience, and location.

Your Role

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment
• Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments, maintaining patient comfort and workflow
• Take dental X-rays and digital images as required
• Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards
• Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks
• Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high-quality care
• Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines
• Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour

About You

• Registered and/or Certified as a Dental Assistant with your Provincial regulatory body or association is required
• Previous dental assisting experience is preferred
