Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in demand planning or supply chain.
  • Strong knowledge of forecasting techniques and ERP systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required.

Job Description

TheDemand Planner is responsible for the development of the short and long-range demand forecast for their assigned categories, including achieving accuracy metrics, which enables the company to achieve both financial and service objectives. This role will recognize trends or patterns through business intelligence, statistical modeling techniques, historical sales, future trends, seasonality and collaborating with Sales and the rest of Supply Chain .

When You Join Us, You Will

Develop and maintain monthly operational forecast down to SKU level at multiple locations

Incorporate business intelligence into the forecast (Examples, promotional programs, price increase, sales events, new product introduction, discontinuation).

Prepare and facilitate monthly consensus meetings with the Sales and planning teams to provide insight and analysis to improve the accuracy of the forecast.

Complete analysis on Key Performance Indicators (forecast accuracy, forecast error) and implement solutions.

Work closely with Product development and Sales to forecast new products.

Co-ordinate with Supply Planning to provide an updated demand plan that will feed the supply plan

Monitor performance vs. forecast and Business Plan and provide detailed input to Sales for use in the Sales & Operations process

Ensure accurate system maintenance for all parameters

Proactively monitor forecast error/accuracy including root cause analysis that leads to continuous improvement in accuracy metrics

Provide weekly sales updates to the organization as well as an estimate for the month/year.

Prepare monthly data to be presented in the S&OP along with recommendations

Refine systems and methods to continually improve demand planning

Execute with excellence in the area of supply planning and feedback to the supply chain team the opportunities and risks regarding meeting the supply plan and MPS

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor's degree in a related program
  • Three to Five years of experience in industry
  • High-level understanding of all aspects of supply chain processes
  • Certificates - APICS or other recognized supply chain certifications
  • Lean Six Sigma certification an asset
  • Strong knowledge of forecasting techniques and ERP – MRP systems
  • Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills are required
  • Candidates must possess advanced skills in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Strong interpersonal skills are also essential to effectively interact with all teams, areas, and levels
  • Strong facilitation and decision-making skills are required
