Job summary

Shoemaker Drywall Supplies - Calgary is hiring a Delivery Helper to assist with the safe transportation of building materials and their placement on customer job sites. You will work with the team to exceed customer expectations, prioritizing safety, service, and efficiency on every delivery.

The role requires effective communication, basic math, and the ability to lift up to 100 lbs. A valid driver's license is preferred. Job location is Calgary, AB, with physical requirements noted above.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Deliver materials to the assigned area as directed by the customer.

• Ensure materials are delivered to customer satisfaction with emphasis on safety and efficiency.
• Maintain contact with dispatch to resolve issues as they arise.
• Prepare trucks for reloading and assist warehouse staff as needed.
• Report accidents or injuries and verify load security.

The Delivery Helper assists with the safe transportation of building materials and the placement on customer job sites. Together with other team members, the Helper works to exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver materials to the assigned area as directed by the customer while prioritizing personal safety and the safety of those around you.
• Communicate professionally with customers, co-workers, and other trades on job sites.
• Deliver materials to the satisfaction of customers and maintain an emphasis on safety, service, and efficiency.
• Maintain contact with dispatch and work to resolve issues as they arise.
• Prepare trucks for reloading and assist warehouse staff as needed.
• Report all accidents or injuries.
• Verify load security and accuracy.
• Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers.
• Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Basic Requirements

• A valid driver’s license with a cleandriver's abstractis an asset.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics.
• Basic hand tool skills.
• Completion of high school preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 100lbs. Sitting for long periods.
• Frequently climbing up and downstairs. Pulling, pushing, bending, and torso twisting movements to transfer building materials between truck and job site.
