Job summary

Watson Building Supplies - Barrie is seeking a Delivery Helper to assist with the safe transportation of building materials and placement on customer job sites, and to contribute to exceeding customer expectations.

You will deliver materials to the assigned areas, communicate professionally with customers, co-workers and trades on job sites, and maintain a strong emphasis on safety, service and efficiency while coordinating with dispatch.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving abstract.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics.
• Basic hand tool skills.
• Completion of high school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver materials to the assigned area and prioritize safety.
• Communicate professionally with customers, co-workers and other trades on job sites.
• Deliver to customer sites with emphasis on safety, service and efficiency; coordinate with dispatch.
• Prepare trucks for reloading and assist warehouse staff as needed.
• Report accidents or injuries and verify load security.

Position Purpose:

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver materials to the assigned area as directed by the customer while prioritizing personal safety and the safety of those around you. Communicate professionally with customers, co-workers, and other trades on job sites. Deliver materials to the satisfaction of customers and maintain an emphasis on safety, service, and efficiency. Maintain contact with dispatch and work to resolve issues as they arise. Prepare trucks for reloading and assist warehouse staff as needed. Report all accidents or injuries. Verify load security and accuracy. Drive loads to sites as directed. Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures. Other duties as assigned by management. Skills and Requirements A valid driver’s license with a cleandriver's abstract. Effective written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of basic mathematics. Basic hand tool skills. Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 100lbs. Sitting for long periods.
• Frequently climbing up and downstairs. Pulling, pushing, bending, and torso twisting movements to transfer building materials between truck and job site.
