Job summary

Walmart in Ottawa, ON is hiring for a Deli Bakery Associate to provide customer service and maintain the Deli and Bakery areas. You will stock, rotate stock, ensure accurate signage and pricing, and assist with hot food and bakery preparations. The role involves following food safety protocols and cold chain standards at the 2277 Riverside Dr location.

The minimum wage starts at 18.40 per hour. Applicants must be 16 or older and able to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Zones the department to ensure product shelves, tables and bunkers are organized and product is in the correct location
• Rotates stock and checks for expired products
• Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced
• Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates
• Takes orders for Deli Department merchandise; preparing hot food merchandise and providing requested assistance
• Prepares deli food orders utilizing utensils; preparing chicken by using rotisserie oven; and fill prepared side dishes for placement into display area
• Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise
• Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels
