Job summary

Walmart Canada in Calgary is seeking a Deli Bakery Associate to deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining and stocking the Deli and Bakery areas. You will handle orders, prep hot and baked goods, and ensure accurate signage and pricing.

The role requires adherence to safety standards, accurate temperature records, and proper food handling. Starting wage is CAD 16.45 per hour, with opportunities to grow within a major retailer.

Qualifications

• Age – 16 or older.

Responsibilities

• Zones the department to ensure product shelves, tables and bunkers are organization and product is in the correct location.
• Rotates stock and checks for expired products.
• Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced.
• Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates.
• Takes orders for Deli Department merchandise; preparing hot food merchandise and providing requested assistance.
• Prepares deli food orders utilizing utensils; preparing chicken by using rotisserie oven; and fill prepared side dishes for placement into display area.
• Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
• Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.
