Job summary

Walmart Canada in Vaughan, ON is seeking a Deli Bakery Associate to deliver friendly, helpful service while maintaining and stocking the Deli/Bakery area. You will zone shelves, assist with orders, and ensure products are properly signed and priced.

This role requires adherence to food safety standards, rotation of stock, and accurate preparation of deli and bakery items, with a starting hourly rate of CAD 18.40. Minimum age 16 or older; flexibility for shifts.

Responsibilities

• Zones the department to ensure product shelves, tables and bunkers are organization and product is in the correct location
• Rotates stock and checks for expired products.
• Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced.
• Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell‑by dates, and expiration dates.
• Takes orders for Deli Department merchandise; preparing hot food merchandise and providing requested assistance.
• Prepares deli food orders utilizing utensils; preparing chicken by using rotisserie oven; and fill prepared side dishes for placement into display area.
• Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
• Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.
