Job summary

Walmart Canada in Mississauga, ON is seeking a Deli Bakery Associate to deliver exemplary customer service while maintaining the Bakery and Deli area. You will assist with stocking, rotate stock, price items, follow food safety standards, and prepare deli and bakery orders for display.

This role involves door-to-shelf merchandising and assisting customers with purchases. The position starts at a minimum hourly rate of $18.40 CAD and requires individuals aged 16 or older.

Responsibilities

• Zones the department to ensure product shelves, tables and bunkers are organized and product is in the correct location.
• Rotates stock and checks for expired products.
• Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced.
• Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates.
• Takes orders for Deli Department merchandise; preparing hot food merchandise and providing requested assistance.
• Prepares deli food orders utilizing utensils; preparing chicken by using rotisserie oven; and fill prepared side dishes for placement into display area.
• Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
• Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.
