Job summary

Pomerleau’s Civil & Infrastructure team is seeking a Deep Foundations Welder to contribute to large-scale projects across Quebec. You will weld on piles, rebar cages, and related components, interpreting plans and ensuring high‑quality workmanship on busy job sites.

The role requires CCQ/CWB/ASP certifications, a strong safety mindset, and willingness to travel between project sites. You will collaborate with drillers, operators, and forepersons to ensure efficient execution and adherence to

Qualifications

  • CCQ competency card required.
  • CWB certification required.
  • ASP Construction Health & Safety card required.
  • Relevant welding experience in heavy construction, civil infrastructure, or deep foundations.
  • Proficient in multiple welding processes used on construction sites.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to quality.
  • Able to adapt to a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Willing to travel to various project sites.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding on deep foundation components (piles, rebar cages, temporary structures, equipment).
  • Read and interpret plans, shop drawings, and specs.
  • Assemble, modify, repair, and install metal components per project requirements.
  • Cut, grind, fit, and prepare materials prior to welding.
  • Inspect welds and correct quality issues as needed.
  • Coordinate with drillers, operators, crane operators, and forepersons.
  • Maintain and inspect welding tools and equipment.
  • Follow health & safety procedures and site regulations.
  • Support project operations as needed.

Job Description

We want to hear from you. As a Deep Foundations Welder within Pomerleau’s Civil & Infrastructure team, you will work closely with all team members to ensure the coordination and execution of construction activities on large‑scale projects ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion. You will contribute to the productivity and efficiency of our operations and help drive success across our job sites.

Responsibilities
  • Perform welding work on various metal components related to deep foundation activities (piles, rebar cages, temporary structures, equipment, and accessories).
  • Read and interpret plans, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Assemble, modify, repair, and install various metal components in accordance with project requirements.
  • Perform cutting, grinding, fitting, and preparation of materials prior to welding.
  • Inspect the quality of completed welds and make any necessary corrections.
  • Work closely with drillers, operators, crane operators, and forepersons to ensure the efficient execution of work activities.
  • Participate in the maintenance and inspection of welding tools and equipment.
  • Strictly follow health and safety procedures as well as site‑specific regulations.
  • Perform any other related duties required to support project operations.
Qualifications
  • Hold a valid CCQ competency card.
  • Hold a valid CWB certification.
  • Hold a valid ASP Construction Health and Safety card.
  • Have relevant experience as a Welder in heavy construction, civil infrastructure, or deep foundations.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in various welding processes commonly used on construction sites.
  • Be self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and committed to delivering high‑quality work.
  • Be able to work effectively in a fast‑paced and continuously evolving environment.
  • Be available to work variable schedules and travel to different project sites as required.
