Job summary

Pomerleau is seeking an experienced General Superintendent for Civil & Infrastructure Operations. You will lead formwork projects, mentor site teams, and collaborate with management to ensure quality, safety, and schedule adherence across large-scale builds.

Role requires 15+ years in civil/infrastructure, 8+ as a superintendent, and strong plans-reading skills. Travel across Eastern Canada is expected, with a hybrid work model for corporate roles.

Qualifications

• DEP in a construction-related field or equivalent training.
• 15+ years of civil and infrastructure construction experience, including 8+ years as a superintendent on large-scale projects.
• Significant experience in formwork operations, including team supervision and management.
• Excellent project planning and coordination skills.
• Proficiency in reading plans and specifications.
• Recognized leadership and strong interpersonal skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel to support Deep foundations team sites across Eastern Canada.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong leadership and promote a robust HSE culture on formwork projects.
• Support and advise superintendents throughout all construction stages.
• Coordinate equipment movement between sites.
• Contribute expertise during pre-construction phases (methods, strategies, inventories).
• Establish labor needs at project start and throughout execution.
• Mentor and train new superintendents, foremen, and site personnel.
• Act as an ambassador of Pomerleau’s values.
• Conduct regular site visits to guide and align with project goals.

As an experienced General Superintendent working in the Civil & Infrastructure Operations team at Pomerleau Construction, you will support new and ongoing project growth, challenging industry standards with your trade-driven expertise and knowledge. Working on large-scale building and infrastructure projects – ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion – you will work closely with the project management team, various client groups and subtrades to ensure project excellence through your outstanding leadership, keen eye for detail and commitment to quality, and health and safety.

What You Will Do:

• Ensure strong leadership and implement a robust HSE culture by promoting best practices on each formwork project.
• Support and advise superintendents throughout all stages of construction.
• Coordinate equipment movement between various sites.
• Participate in pre-construction phases (methods, strategies, inventories, etc.) by contributing your expertise.
• Establish labor needs at the start and throughout the execution of the work.
• Support the training of new superintendents, foremen, and site personnel, and act as a mentor.
• Act as an ambassador of Pomerleau’s values.

This Role Could Be for You If You Have:
