Job summary

Seaspan in North Vancouver is seeking a Data Management Technician to develop and maintain Quality databases supporting QA, Ship Acceptance, and Weld Engineering.

You will compile and coordinate Quality documents, prepare reports, and work on data migrations, dashboards, and metric reporting under the Quality Data Analyst. On-site role with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• College diploma with solid IT knowledge.
• 1–3 years' data management experience.

Job description

The Data Management Technician is responsible for developing and maintaining the Quality Department databases, which include Quality Assurance, Quality and Accuracy Control, Ship Acceptance and Weld Engineering. The position supports the Quality Data Analyst by compiling and coordinating Quality documents for distribution and implementation. The position will also prepare reports on relevant Quality data and documenting data management processes.

Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 2 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver

What you'll do

• Support the development and maintenance of Quality databases and support the migration of data as required.

• Organizes and administers Quality databases.

• Supports internal process improvement initiatives.

• Prepare/ maintain/update various data, documents, files and project information for recording and distribution to related departments.

• Supports Quality Data Analyst in producing metric reporting and managing existing dashboards.

• Prepare Weekly and Monthly Quality Management Reports under Department Manager supervision.

• Other duties as required.

What you'll bring

• College diploma supplemented with solid IT knowledge.

• Experience in data management roles for at least 1 to 3 years.

• Experience in supporting the development of new IT databases and the migration of data from previous systems.

• Experience managing comprehensive data records.

• Experience working in Quality Control or Quality Assurance is preferred.

• Experience with project management is an asset.

• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.

• Must have experience with Power BI.

• Good knowledge of quality management practices is highly desirable.

• Strong organization skills - ability to plan and organize work independently.

• Excellent collaboration and communication skills

• Strong analytical skills and close attention to details. Able to spot check and review data sets for integrity/accuracy.

The estimated salary for this position is $84,600 - $103,400. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful candidate's skills and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
