Qualifications

Position Overview:

The Data Governance Senior Analyst contributes to the success of Allstate’s Data Governance program by ensuring strategic objectives are met. The role involves enforcing data standards, policies, collaborating with teams to maintain data integrity, and supporting business objectives. An excellent opportunity for an experienced Data Analyst to deepen their understanding of Data Governance.

Accountabilities:
  • Assist in rolling out Allstate’s Data Governance platform by onboarding data sources into Informatica’s IDMC.
  • Support lines of business and project teams with Data Practices such as Data Catalog, Data Quality, Classification, and Metadata Management.
  • Act as the main contact to ensure Data Practice initiatives are completed.
  • Manage Data Governance activities including meetings, issue management, reporting, and communication.
  • Analyze and manipulate large datasets.
  • Provide guidance on Data Governance best practices for Amazon services (DataZone, S3).
  • Track metrics and milestones for reporting to senior management.
Qualifications:
  • 2-4 years of experience with a post-secondary degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Economics, Business).
  • Analytical mindset, structured thinker, effective communicator.
  • Expert in Excel and Visio.
  • Proficient in SQL coding and documentation.
  • Experience with structured data metadata.
  • Knowledge of Data Quality rules, data profiling, root cause analysis, and industry standards (DCAM/DAMA, CDMP).
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban).
Bonus Qualifications:
  • Experience with Data Catalog/Governance tools like Informatica, Alation, Collibra, or Purview.
