Job summary

PwC Canada is seeking a Data Governance Consultant, Senior Associate, to support a cloud migration program for a banking/financial services client. You will embed with the client team to drive governance across multi-wave migration from on-premises to Azure, including framework design, ownership models, and regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional experience in data governance or related field.
• Experience supporting data governance in cloud migration, cloud transformation, or data transformation programs.
• Consulting or advisory experience in a client-facing environment.
• Strong understanding of core data governance concepts, including governance frameworks, operating models, stewardship, ownership, policies, standards, and controls.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement data governance frameworks, principles, policies, standards, and controls for a cloud migration program.
• Establish and refine data ownership, stewardship, and governance operating models.
• Assess applications and data domains for cloud migration readiness, including governance, classification, quality, lineage, retention, privacy, and control implications.
• Ensure data governance requirements are embedded across migration lifecycle stages (planning, implementation, go-live, post-go-live).
• Facilitate collaboration across business, risk, governance, and technology teams to support governance adoption.
• Support data classification, retention, usage, access, and control requirements in line with regulatory standards.
