Job summary

GoA's Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee (OPGT) seeks a Data Architect to lead data architecture, governance and security across Dynamics 365, Power Platform and Azure. The role ensures analytics readiness, regulatory compliance and scalable data solutions for Albertans.

You will drive end-to-end data architecture, oversee migrations, define standards and collaborate with vendors and GoA teams to deliver secure, modern data platforms for reporting and operations.

Qualifications

• Define/document data architecture, including data requirements, strategies, models and standards.
• Lead solution architecture on cloud data platforms and ensure business alignment.
• Govern schemas, relationships, and data access controls; promote best practices.
• Oversee data migration strategy: extraction, transformation, cleansing, validation.
• Architect data lakehouse/data warehouse solutions using Microsoft Azure tools.

Responsibilities

• Define end-to-end data architecture for integrated systems and reporting.
• Ensure alignment across modules, Power Platform components and Azure services.
• Lead data governance, privacy, and compliance practices with security standards.
• Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to validate data designs and mappings.
• Provide knowledge transfer and guidance to delivery teams throughout the project.
• Oversee data quality and readiness activities for deployment and go-live.
