Job summary

Intelcom is offering a data engineering internship where you will contribute to designing and maintaining databases, data warehouses, and scalable ETL pipelines across Canada. You will partner with stakeholders to understand data requirements, implement data quality processes, and document technical specifications in a dynamic, innovation-driven environment.

You will gain hands-on experience with Python, SQL, ETL, Snowflake, Airflow, and BI tools while collaborating with cross-functional teams

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in data engineering, business analytics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design and maintenance of databases, data warehouses, and scalable ETL pipelines.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Implement data validation, cleansing, and governance processes to ensure data quality and reliability.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of data systems and proactively address inefficiencies.
  • Document data engineering processes, data models, and technical specifications to support platform adoption.
  • Ensure compliance with data security standards and implement access controls where needed.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the design and maintenance of databases, data warehouses, and scalable ETL pipelines
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver scalable solutions
  • Implement data validation, cleansing, and governance processes to ensure data quality and reliability
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of data systems and proactively address inefficiencies
  • Document data engineering processes, data models, and technical specifications to support platform adoption
  • Ensure compliance with data security standards and implement access controls where needed

The role involves daily (or regular) communication with pan-Canadian stakeholders

Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in data engineering, business analytics, or a related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, including Office, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Python, or related language, for data transformation and analysis
  • Knowledge of SQL, ETL and database management
  • Familiarity with Cloud Technologies (Azure and AWS), Snowflake, Apache Airflow, Power BI and DBT is an asset
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects with accuracy
  • Adaptable and effective in dynamic environments
  • Proactive and solution-driven mindset
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
