Job summary

Altis Technology in Toronto is seeking an experienced Power BI and Data Architecture professional to balance strategic solution design with hands-on development. You’ll support a large-scale public sector or healthcare environment, shaping a modern analytics solution that turns complex data into reliable, actionable insights.

The role is approximately 40% data architecture and 60% hands-on Power BI development, collaborating with stakeholders and technical teams to design scalable architecture,

Qualifications

• 7+ years of BI and data analytics experience, including 5+ years Power BI development.
• 7+ years of data architecture experience with dimensional modeling and enterprise data warehouse design.
• 3+ years of Ontario Public Service or healthcare experience is required.
• Expert-level DAX, Power Query, Power BI semantic modeling, advanced SQL and data warehouse development skills.
• Strong expertise with Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse and SQL Server.
• Proven experience with data governance, security, RLS, performance optimization and enterprise reporting architecture.
• Strong business analysis, stakeholder management, leadership, mentoring, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• You’ll develop solution architecture documentation, data flow diagrams, conceptual, logical and physical data models.
• You’ll design Databricks Lakehouse architecture, Power BI semantic models, security models and Row‑Level Security.
• You’ll establish data governance, lineage, performance, capacity, non‑functional requirements and CI/CD architecture.
• You’ll build Power BI dashboards and reports, including DAX measures and KPIs.
• You’ll integrate Databricks data sources and optimize reporting performance.
• You’ll support testing, deployment, technical documentation and knowledge transfer.

• Strong expertise with Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse and SQL Server.
• Proven experience with data governance, security, RLS, performance optimization and enterprise reporting architecture.
