Technical Product Owner to join the Rogers MW Core and DAL Technology Solution Team. Working mainly from our Brampton office, you will drive middleware software design and delivery for multiple projects.
What You'll Do
- Create strong relationships with BSA team members, scrum teams, Architecture, DevOps, Product Owners, and stakeholders.
- Work with waterfall and agile methodologies.
- Participate in discovery and prioritization of initiatives, breaking them down into manageable user stories.
- Elicit, analyze, document, and validate requirements, process flows, and system components, producing functional specifications for middleware and front/back-end applications.
- Gather non-functional requirements for Middleware and ensure they are addressed.
- Identify Middleware solutions considering architecture and current landscape.
- Highlight problem areas, risks, and develop mitigation plans.
- Work with other Product Owners to write clear User Stories with acceptance criteria; prepare documentation including HLEs, Requirements Matrix, and Design Specifications.
- Provide estimates and forecasts to project managers.
- Conduct JAD and brainstorming sessions with SMEs.
- Become a domain SME in Middleware.
- Manage minor Middleware enhancements end-to-end.
- Collaborate with technical teams, project managers, developers, and senior management.
- Ensure smooth integration with core/legacy systems.
- Coordinate with QA teams for various testing phases.
- Conduct project reviews, obtain sign-offs, and coordinate acceptance testing.
- Work on multiple projects across different SDLC stages.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, Business, or related fields.
- 7+ years of experience as a Product Specialist or Business Systems Analyst in an Agile and waterfall environment.
- Quick learner with effective communication skills.
- Experience translating business and technical requirements into detailed documentation.
- Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, or similar tools.
- Understanding of Azure cloud applications.
- Knowledge of MW, Billing, Customer Management, and Order Management in Telecom.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively.
- Experience with external vendors.
- Core competencies include customer service, teamwork, adaptability, and analytical thinking.
- Clear communication tailored to the audience.
- Excellent time and priority management skills.
- Proactive and responsive attitude.
- Willingness to take on new roles and contribute to team success.
- Comfort discussing technical aspects of middleware and applications with developers.
- Experience in software development, telecom, and project delivery is a bonus.
- Ability to see the big picture while managing details.
