Job summary

Elmer's Manufacturing Ltd is seeking a Cybersecurity Student for a fixed-term placement. You will monitor security alerts, support vulnerability management, and triage incidents across our systems while completing a capstone project for presentation to IT and leadership.

The role is based at our Altona, MB facility, offering a competitive salary, benefits, and profit-sharing. Current students from the RRC Polytech Cybersecurity program (or similar) are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Current student in the RRC Polytech Cybersecurity program (or similar), eligible for a work placement.
• Foundational knowledge of networking, security operations and Microsoft 365.
• CompTIA Security+ or Network+ (or in progress), scripting in PowerShell or Python, and SIEM exposure are assets.
• Analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and a growth mindset; energized by change and helping others succeed.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and logs across our Microsoft 365 environment and esc.
• Support vulnerability scanning and patch management through to remediation.
• Triage and document user-reported phishing and security incidents.
• Assist with user access reviews and IT asset inventory upkeep.
• Help create security awareness content for office and plant employees.
• Complete a capstone project and present findings to IT and leadership.

Inthis position you will help protect our systems and people by monitoringsecurity alerts, supporting vulnerability and patch management, and completinga capstone project, as part of a fixed-term placement for students in acybersecurity or related IT program.
