Job summary

FCC, a Canadian Crown corporation, is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst in Regina to monitor, investigate and respond to security events. This fixed-term 15-month role supports incident response, threat intelligence and continuous security improvement.

You’ll work with cyber security colleagues to analyze logs, identify threats and implement timely mitigations in a hybrid work environment. A bachelor’s degree and 4+ years in security are required.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, cyber security or related discipline.
• At least four years of cyber security experience or equivalent.
• Experience in cyber security operations or SOC environments.
• Knowledge of network security, threats, vulnerabilities and attack techniques.
• Experience with security monitoring tools to investigate alerts and events.
• Ability to analyze vulnerabilities and determine escalation paths.
• Strong communication to explain technical information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts, logs, events and feeds to identify threats.
• Investigate and analyze security events to determine cause and impact.
• Document and elevate incidents needing further investigation or response.
• Review logs and telemetry to distinguish benign activity from threats.
• Support administration, maintenance and testing of cyber defence systems.
• Contribute to threat intelligence, incident response and security hardening initiatives.
