Job summary

CEVA Logistics in Mississauga, Canada, is seeking an experienced supervisor to manage customs operations and distribute workload across the team. You will ensure service quality, compliance with regulations, and accurate pricing for air, ocean, and road shipments.

You will train and supervise staff, coordinate with the network, and drive efficient workflow while maintaining a safe, respectful work climate. A collegiate diploma and customs experience are required.

Qualifications

  • A diploma of collegiate studies or academic equivalent and customs experience is required.
  • 5–10 years in the industry and 1–2 years in supervision.
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Distribute work among team members and ensure quality and budget compliance.
  • Provide superior customer service and act as a resource for the network and clients.
  • Manage customs procedures, preparation, clearance, and pricing for shipments.
  • Verify declarations, ensure delivery of merchandise, and resolve disputes.
  • Structure workflow, train and evaluate team members, and communicate updates.

Your Role:

Ensure that the work is appropriately distributed amongst team members and performed according to the quality norms and established budgets. Offer superior customer service.

What You’ll be Doing:

  • Act as a resource person for the network and client base for issues concerning customs procedures.
  • Understand and comply with the laws and regulations of different governments and ISO norms of the company.
  • Perform operational activities of an agent.
  • Preparation; clearance; and pricing for air, ocean, and road shipments.
  • Ensure all relative costs are indicated on invoices.
  • Verification and transmission of confirmed declarations with BSAC (Border Services Agency of Canada).
  • Ensure the delivery of merchandise.
  • Manage disputes innovatively.
  • Communicate, without delay, pertinent information of issues to the immediate supervisor.
  • Structure, organize, and distribute workflow.
  • Create a work climate based on respect and collaboration.
  • Recruit, supervise, train, hold accountable and evaluate team members.
  • Other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

What We Are Looking For:

  • A diploma of collegiate studies or academic equivalent, and experience in customs is required.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in the industry and 1-2 years in supervision.
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office
  • Business acumen
  • English proficiency, both oral and written
  • Leadership
  • Excellent judgment and ability to problem solve

  • Communication and composure are all required for this position
