Job summary

The Royal Conservatory in Toronto is seeking an entry-level Field Service Technician to join the service team. You will service ATMs, POS equipment, EV charging, locksmithing, and related PC peripherals on customer premises, with on-the-job and formal training provided.

Expect on-site work in Toronto Central and surrounding areas, a rotating shift, and mentorship to build extensive hands-on skills in electromechanical repairs and installations.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in CS or eng or related field.
• Ability to communicate (verbal and written).
• Up to 1 year of related experience; ATM experience a plus.
• MS Office, Windows XP and Windows 2000 knowledge.
• Flexible, positive attitude; team-focused even when solo.
• Team-minded approach and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on ATMs (card reader, printer, reset/test).
• Electromechanical repair tasks.
• Basic installation: set up/test equipment, cables, mounting, locks.
• Technical issues: clear jams and resolve noted problems.
• Inspect products for proper operation and escalate as needed.

Pay rate: $24.00 + $0.55/km

Shift Schedule: Rotating shift schedule

***Techs will be trained on the job; depending on how well they pick it up, it could be 2-3 weeks. ***

Overview

Join our client’s dynamic service team for this entry-level field service position. Depending on your assigned territory, you will provide services, repairs and technical maintenance for ATMs, retail POS equipment, Electric Vehicle Charging (EVC), locksmithing, plus related PC peripherals on customer premises. Our client also provides on-the-job mentoring as you might expect, but also formal classroom, virtual and self-paced training for extensive learning opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Performing maintenance on ATMs (e.g., card reader, printer, reset and test devices, etc.).


• Electromechanical repair.


• Performing basic installation functions (e.g., set up and test equipment, pulling cables, mounting devices, installing


• locks)


• Performing technical fixes such as clearing paper jams, card jams, bill jams, etc.


• Inspecting products for correct operation resolving noted issues and escalating according to established


• procedures


• Prioritizing and planning service calls


• Works within a team environment, completes all required paperwork, manages, and maintains service parts inventory


• Contacting the customer with the estimated time of arrival


• Working with customers to ensure satisfaction with service delivery and understanding of product functionality


• Following key/alarm/combination control processes in assigned area of responsibility

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, OR related field of study


• Ability to communicate (verbal and written)


• Up to a year of related experience (but previous experience in ATMs or similar equipment is always a plus).


• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Windows XP, and Windows 2000.
