Job summary

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a Physiotherapist to assess, diagnose and treat patients across outpatient, inpatient and community settings. The role involves education, collaboration with health teams, and supervision of students and assistants.

The successful candidate will hold a physiotherapy degree, be licensed with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists, and have CPR/BCLS certification. This permanent full-time position offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or entry level master program in Physiotherapy from an accredited university.
  • Membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists (Provincial licensing body).
  • Annual Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation certification (BCLS).
  • Additional courses/education/training in cardio-respiratory techniques, acupuncture, stroke rehabilitation, manual therapy, balance training, etc.
  • Competencies in other languages are an asset; French preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose and treat patients with impairment, pain, or functional limitations.
  • Provide service in outpatient, inpatient and community settings.
  • Educate and communicate with health disciplines, patients, families and caregivers.
  • Supervise and evaluate physiotherapy students and assistants.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Physiotherapist assesses, diagnoses and treats patients who present with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations or disabilities. The Physiotherapist may provide service in outpatient, inpatient and community settings. The Physiotherapist educates and communicates with other health disciplines, the general public, family members and caregivers. The Physiotherapist provides supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students and supervision of assistants. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required. The successful applicant may be required to provide services anywhere within the Rehabilitation Services portfolio.

About You

Hours
  • Permament, full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
Compensation and Benefits

$38.43 - $50.98 hourly
