Job summary

Royal Distributing in Ottawa, Ontario is seeking a Customer Service Associate for our busy retail location. You’ll interact with customers, recommend products, and help ensure an exceptional in-store experience. The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and a customer‑first mindset.

The team handles warranty questions, returns, merchandising, and daily sales operations while maintaining safety standards and campus policy compliance. Equipment includes POS systems and seasonal shifts.

Responsibilities

• Determining customer needs and recommending products for purchase
• Act as the liaison between customers & manufacturers to resolve all warranty issues and returns
• Working together with the retail team to meet and exceed store objectives
• Assisting with merchandising and maintaining visual standards
• Track and follow-up with vendors to ensure the timely resolution of open claims
• Manage the flow of goods for special orders, products on-hold, and store orders
• Assist on the retail sales floor for promotional events as required
• Adhering to company safety policy and safety compliance regulations
• Working POS systems to help serve customers
• Process customer transactions and ensure a positive customer experience
• Other tasks as assigned by your supervisor/manager

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Customer Service Associate to help us at our busy retail location. We are in search of team members with strong customer-service skills that can ensure our customers have the best possible in-store experience. The ideal candidate enjoys interacting with customers, has strong interpersonal skills, and has past experience working in a fast-paced retail environment.

Additional Information

• Starting Rate: $17.60/an hour
• This position reports to the Assistant Store Managers and Store Manager
• This position requires team members to work varying hours, seasonal overtime, and shifts during days, evenings, and weekends
• This position requires team members to stand for extended periods, climb a ladder and to move merchandise (weighing up to 30 pounds) throughout the store
• Steel toe, green patch work boots are required
• This is a vacant position in which the posting will stay open until a hiring decision has been made.
