Claims Customer service agent (temporary contract)

Location: Distribution Center, 5540, rue Ernest-Cormier, Laval (Québec) H7C 2T1

Hybrid work: 3 days at the office and 2 days remotely

Type of employment: Temporary 1 year, Full Time (37,5 hours)

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Claims Manager, the Agent acts as the first point of contact for operators and customers in all matters related to insurance claims. The Agent handles bodily injury claims, claims following a damage to the company property/buildings or third-party property damages as well as car fleet claims.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as a contact person for operators in the event of a bodily injury claims, damage to the company property/building, third-party property damages as well as car fleet claims;
  • Coordinate claim files according to established protocols (e.g. billing and/or reimbursement);
  • Follow up with operations, clients and insurer and/or claims adjuster;
  • Handle telephone complaints related to customer service claims;
  • Synthesize the documents necessary for the production of various statistical reports;
  • Answer calls and emails;
  • Provide administrative support to the Insurance and Claims department;
  • Intervene and deal with the various parties involved.

What You’ll Need

Education:

  • DEC in secretary or administration.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in customer service (telephone);
  • Experience in administrative support (asset);
  • Experience in the insurance industry and in the management of claims files and knowledge of Report Excel will be considered an asset;

Knowledge and skills:

  • Excellent command of the Office suite;
  • Rigor, organizational skills and ability to manage priorities;
  • Diplomacy, autonomy;
  • Strong aptitude for customer service and negotiation.

Language Skills

  • Bilingualism required (Advanced French and English) both spoken and written, as the person will be required to work and communicate regularly in English while performing the tasks outlined above. Specifically, the role requires collaboration with global teams.
