Prairie Land Public School Division is seeking a Lead Custodian to join our Facilities team. The role is part-time (approx.

10 hours/week) reporting to the Director of Facilities, with responsibilities including procurement and testing of custodial products, audits and inspections at schools, and training new custodians. The successful candidate should have knowledge of cleaning supplies, products, tools, and equipment, plus an understanding of safety procedures.

Lead Custodian

This position is currently posted internally to CUPE employees for 5 working days until 4:30 p.m. October 1, 2026 as per the CUPE Local 5829 Collective Agreement.

Prairie Land Public School Division is seeking a Lead Custodian to join our Facilities team. This is a part‑time position commencing as soon as possible and working approximately 10 hours per week (0.25 FTE). The successful candidate will report to the Director of Facilities and will be responsible for supporting custodial operations throughout the division. Responsibilities will include the procurement and testing of custodial products and supplies, conducting custodial audits and inspections at schools throughout the division, and training newly hired custodians. The successful candidate will have knowledge of a variety of cleaning supplies, products, tools, and equipment, as well as an understanding of appropriate safety procedures and practices.

Strong organizational and multitasking skills are required to effectively manage and track a variety of responsibilities. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision, and the flexibility to work collaboratively with team members both independently and as part of a group. Experience in custodial work, training, or a supervisory capacity would be considered an asset.

For an internal applicant, the Lead Custodian responsibilities may be incorporated into the employee's existing custodial assignment, where operationally feasible, with the specific schedule and duties determined in consultation with the Director of Facilities.
