Job summary

The Salvation Army in Canada is hiring for a janitorial role focused on maintaining clean, safe facilities at our locations. The incumbent performs light cleaning, handles trash and recycling, and keeps washrooms and kitchens in order while reporting safety concerns to supervisors.

Ideal candidates understand and support our mission, comply with health and safety policies, and can lift up to 49 pounds while using cleaning equipment and ladders as needed.

Qualifications

• Willingness to develop an understanding and support for The Salvation Army's mission and purpose.
• Compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and health and safety policies.
• Ability to lift/move up to 49 pounds and work with cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform light cleaning duties to maintain defined work areas.
• Maintain weekly upkeep of facilities; manage garbage and recycling.
• Vacuum, sweep, wash floors, clean glass, dust offices and furnishings.
• Wipe tables, chairs, and door handles; move and arrange furniture as needed.
• Ensure kitchen cleanliness and stock washrooms; report repairs.
• Identify repairs needing external service and report safety concerns.
