University of Ottawa is seeking teaching assistant/demonstrator staff for the Laboratory of Organic Chemistry (CHM3126) at the Main Campus. Role covers student contact, grading, proctoring and safety supervision for the January–April 2027 term. Wage rates apply to undergraduate and graduate students and are paid hourly.
Work is in person for the Winter 2027 semester with a total of about 130 hours. Up to 10 positions are available, with a possible bilingual sections.

Undergraduate students will be paid at the lower rate; while graduate students will be paid at the higher rate.
These rates do not include vacation pay nor statutory pay.

Help students in and out of the lab . Correct lab reports, and final examination. Give a review session for the final exam, monitoring a final exam. Implementation of safety guidelines in the laboratory. Please NB: There may be bilingual sections
The candidate must have successfully completed one year of general chemistry, one year of organic chemistry and a 4000 level course in organic chemistry, or their equivalents.
Must have passed the workshops on the Information System on Hazardous Materials Used at Work (SIMDUT) and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (SST Act).
All persons who are not graduate students in chemistry must pass a test to qualify.
