Job summary

Red Deer Public Schools is seeking a Substitute Caretaker (Janitorial) for the 2026-2027 school year. This casual position covers various locations and hours as required, with training provided over the summer.

Willingness to work short notice shifts between 3:00 pm and 11:00 pm, up to 8 hours, Monday through Saturday. Pay rate is per CUP E Local 1012, with competitive compensation under the district.

Substitute Caretaker (Janitorial)

Desirable qualifications:

• Candidates must be available to work on short notice for shifts 3 to 8 hours long between the hours of 3:00 pm and 11:00 pm, Monday through Saturday. Hours will vary based on needs.


• Excellent communication and technology skills


• Direct experience in the caretaking/janitorial field is preferred

Required knowledge, education, abilities and skills are as per the Job Description (available from People Services). Pay rate is per the current collective agreement with C.U.P.E. Local 1012.
