The City of Delta seeks dynamic Visual Arts Instructors to teach engaging recreational programs. Candidates should have a background in visual arts and experience in teaching various age groups. Responsibilities include developing lesson plans and managing classes effectively.
The City of Delta is looking for dynamic, creative, and energetic Visual Arts Instructors to teach our recreational visual arts programs for all ages and abilities. The Leader will develop and implement quality, instructional, and engaging classes in drawing, painting, mixed media, anime, textiles, clay, collage, and/or photography. Other visual arts mediums will be considered.Programs run on a weekly basis during weekday mornings, weekday after school /evenings and weekends. Week-long camps run Monday – Friday over the summer.
Qualifications:
Educational background in visual arts either through continued professional development or through completion of accredited programs
Have a strong teaching background and experience instructing visual arts to a variety of age groups
Knowledge and experience in an array of art disciplines is an asset
Flexible, self motivated, and can take initiative with little supervision
Responsible and punctual
Have strong customer service skills with excellent classroom management and organizational skills
Willing to work 2-4 hour shifts in Tsawwassen, Ladner, and/or North Delta
Available to work evenings (starting as early as 3pm) and weekends
Able to commit to two sessions (2 months in duration) of instruction
Able to create lesson plans for a series of sessional lessons
Must be able to pass and maintain a clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) check
