Job summary

Localcoin, founded in 2017 with headquarters in Toronto, is expanding its team to strengthen government relations across Canada and internationally. This part-time role (20 hours/week) reports to the Chief Compliance Officer and helps position Localcoin as a trusted participant in the digital asset ecosystem.

You will build relationships with government officials, monitor policy developments affecting crypto and fintech, and coordinate with Legal, Compliance, Product, and Operations to support

Qualifications

• Extensive federal government relations experience with a Canada-wide network.
• Strong understanding of Canadian government processes and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including briefing notes and policy materials.
• Ability to travel occasionally within Canada and internationally.
• Comfortable working independently in a part-time capacity while staying aligned with internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with government officials, regulators, and industry groups.
• Monitor legislative, regulatory, and policy changes affecting cryptocurrency/fintech and share updates with teams.
• Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, Product, and Operations on regulatory initiatives.
• Collaborate with external counsel and government relations firms across operating regions.
