Job summary

Norquay Co-operative in Saskatchewan is seeking a full-time Crop Input Specialist for our Agro location in Norquay. You will deliver sales, service and knowledgeable crop input support to local producers, building strong grower relationships and providing practical solutions for farming operations.

You will help producers with crop planning, fertility programs, crop protection and in-season problem solving, while working toward sales, margin and inventory targets.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Agriculture or post-secondary agronomy training.
  • Certified Crop Advisor designation is acceptable.
  • 5+ years of related experience, including 3+ years in leadership.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with multitasking ability.
  • Willingness to continue developing knowledge and skills.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and hold a valid Class 5 driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Provide crop planning, fertility, crop protection and in-season problem-solving recommendations.
  • Work toward sales, margin and inventory targets and forecast product needs.
  • Explain grower and supplier programs and maximize rebates.
  • Participate in supplier planning, including targets and program execution.
  • Coordinate with operations to ensure timely delivery of products and services.
  • Lead field tours, informational meetings, trials and communication initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and required sales documentation.
  • Ensure safe handling and storage of products per policies and regulations.
  • Collaborate with Agro team to support business objectives and customer service.

Norquay Co-operative is hiring a full-time Crop Input Specialist at our Agro location in Norquay, Saskatchewan.

What you’ll do:

Reporting to the Agriculture Manager, the Crop Input Specialist is a customer-focused member of our Agro team responsible for providing sales, service and knowledgeable crop input support to local producers. You will build strong relationships with growers, identify their needs and provide practical solutions to support their farming operations.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers through ongoing communication and regular customer contact.
  • Provide support and recommendations to producers in the areas of crop planning, crop input solutions, fertility programs, crop protection and in-season problem solving.
  • Work toward established sales, margin and inventory targets and assist with forecasting product requirements based on customer plans and seasonal demand.
  • Provide expertise on grower and supplier programs and assist producers in maximizing available program opportunities and rebates.
  • Participate in supplier planning, including sales targets and program execution.
  • Coordinate with operations and application teams to support the accurate and timely delivery of products and services.
  • Lead and participate in field tours, informational meetings, trials and communication initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, sales activities, recommendations and required sales documentation.
  • Ensure the safe handling, storage and recommendation of products in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Agro team and other Norquay Co-op departments to support business objectives and provide a high level of customer service.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Agriculture and:

  • You have a degree or diploma in Agriculture, post-secondary education in agronomy, or a Certified Crop Advisor designation.
  • You have 5+ years of related experience, including 3+ years of leadership experience.
  • You have the ability to manage complex grower and supplier rebate programs.
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multitask and problem solve.
  • You are willing to continually develop your knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • You are physically able to perform the requirements of the position, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • You must be bondable and possess and maintain a valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
  • You’re honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
  • You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
