Zusammenfassung

City of Mission is seeking a Crisis Support Worker to assist victims and witnesses of crime and trauma. You will work with police services and community organizations to provide specialized assistance in Mission, BC, with candidates living within 30 minutes of the Mission RCMP Detachment.

You will attend police call-outs, deliver emotional support, assist with next-of-kin notifications, and liaise with local agencies to secure additional services.

Qualifikationen

• Completed at least the 12th grade with additional courses in social sciences such as sociology, psychology or criminology.
• Strong background working within police environments or victim services programs is essential.
• A valid BC Driver’s License and RCMP Enhanced Reliability Clearance are required.
• Knowledge in crisis intervention and experience with community resources are key to this role.

Aufgaben

• Attend police call-outs, deliver emotional support, assist with next-of-kin notifications, and liaise with local agencies to secure services.
• Accompany victims to medical facilities and arrange transportation as needed.
• Provide field training and guidance to volunteers who assist during crises and maintain accurate case records.
• Maintain detailed records and ensure documentation is up-to-date.
