Job description

Established in 1949, Midwest Surveys is an employee-owned professional land surveying firm providing geomatics deliverables designed for municipal, construction, utility, and oil & gas applications through our ten offices in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia. We focus on building lasting relationships with clients by providing industry-leading project solutions that are customer-centric and technology-driven. Our success is defined by engaged employees, unbending safe work practices, loyal clients, and doing the right thing.

Working under the supervision of a Project Manager and/or Land Surveyor, you will be responsible for leading a crew in the practice of surveying across all sectors/divisions within Midwest, predominantly performing municipal/cadastral surveying, including building layouts, as-built surveys, topographical surveys, and subdivisions. This position is client-facing and may interact daily with Midwest clients, landowners, and the public. You will collaborate with the Project Manager and/or Land Surveyor along with other Crew Chiefs in Midwest to deliver client service.

Field-based survey positions, including the Crew Chief position, require availability to travel as required by work assignment. Midwest will be responsible for costs associated with lodging, and the Crew Chief shall be reimbursed for subsistence costs. The length of work assignments varies based on client requirements, job complexity, and job location. Overtime is anticipated with this position.

  16. Willingness to learn new technical skills (i.e., UAV/Drone license, survey methodology).
