Job summary

Lac La Ronge Indian Band Education Department seeks a Full-Time Term Cree Language Teacher for Sally Ross School in Hall Lake, SK. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor of Education and a Saskatchewan teaching certificate, with fluency in Woodland Cree and experience in land-based education.

Preference given to Aboriginal applicants. A satisfactory driver’s abstract and background check are required. Interviews may be via Teams. Posting is for the 2026-2027 school year.

The Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s Education Department is now accepting applications for the 2026-2027 school year, to fill the following Full-Time Term Position based out of Sally Ross School in Hall Lake, SK: Cree Language Teacher

The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Bachelor of Education degree.
• A Saskatchewan Professional A teaching certificate or Provisional Professional “A” Teaching Certificate
• Must be fluent in Woodland Cree (required).
• Cree Language training is an asset
• Strong background in the culture and traditions of the Woodland Cree.
• Experience with “land based” education activities
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Ability to teach students of varying abilities.
• Cross – Cultural experience is an asset.
• Must be able to provide verification of previous teaching experience (if applicable);
• Must be able to provide a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract and Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector check.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
