Job summary

The Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s Education Department invites applications for a Full-Time Term Educational Assistant position for the 2026-2027 academic year at Sally Ross School, Hall Lake, SK. Candidates will support and program students both in and out of the classroom, while maintaining excellent communication with teachers and staff.

A Grade 12 diploma is required, alongside a valid Class 5 driver's license. Experience with children and completion of a Special Education Assistant program is preferred.

Qualifications

OPEN COMPETITION The Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s Education Department is accepting applications for the 2026-2027 academic year to fill the following Full-Time Term Positions based out of Sally Ross School in Hall Lake, SK: Educational Assistant (3)

Responsibilities

• Provide support and programming to students in and out of the classroom
• Collaborate with teachers in implementing and supporting individualized plans for students with various needs
• Maintain records and student progress, discuss with team members any changes which may be made to an individual students’ program
• Support and assist students and the school as assigned
• Respond flexibly to changes in schedule and to the needs of students, and at times may be required to engage in personal care
• Support and participate in a wide variety of field trips, sports, social, recreational and craft activities
• Participate during supervision time and in extra-curricular activities
• Other work-related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor

Qualifications

• Must have Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license
• Previous experience is preferred
• Must be prepared to work with children with various skills and abilities
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Completion of a recognized Post-Secondary Special Education Assistant program shall be considered an asset
• Ability to lift and position students of varying weights
• Prefer to have or willing to obtain First Aid Certificate
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Must provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check
