Job summary

RBC is seeking an Associate on the Ratings and Monitoring team in Toronto to assess credit ratings, monitor risk, and ensure covenant compliance across Banks, Sovereigns, Supranationals, and non-bank financial institutions. The role involves developing industry expertise, collaborating with Adjudication, Business, Global Credit and other Capital Markets areas.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in credit risk/financial analysis, strong communication, and proven stakeholder collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years knowledge and experience in credit risk and/or financial analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Proficient with MS Office and data tools for online research.

Responsibilities

• Assess credit ratings for Banks, Sovereigns, Supranationals and NBFI counterparties.
• Monitor credit risk and identify key events, refresh ratings annually.
• Support regulatory/audit requests and covenant compliance checks.
• Develop portfolio expertise and provide value-added advice to partners.
• Conduct financial research and develop projections; collaborate across teams.
