Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) is seeking a Crane Operator for our Sault Ste. Marie yard. You will safely operate cranes to lift, move, and position metal materials, with attachments like magnets or grapples, and load/unload from trucks and containers.

Qualifications

• Crane Operator certification and/or experience.
• Min 1 year experience operating a crane in a heavy industrial setting.
• Attention to detail and the ability to accurately position and handle different types of metal materials.
• Solid understanding of safety protocols and procedures related to crane operation and material handling.
• Familiarity with various crane attachments, such as magnets or grapples.

Responsibilities

• Safely operating a crane to lift, move, and position metal materials within the facility.
• Lifting and transporting metal materials using attachments such as magnets or grapples, and safely place them in designated areas or processing equipment.
• Loading and unloading trucks and containers, ensuring proper weight distribution and load security.
• Collaborating and communicating effectively with team members, supervisors, and other personnel.
• Conducting pre and post inspections of the crane, including overall crane maintenance.
• You may be asked to operator the following heavy equipment: Crane, Shear, Loader
